album and the beauty of places such as the Okavango Delta, Makgadikgadi to mention a few.
“If my mother was still around, she could be living in her dream house, and driving her dream car,” he points out. He further says that through out his life, he never went to bed hungry, and had everything that a child desired. “She worked hard for me everyday to give me a better life,” he explains.
He further says when it comes to the production of this album, it will be something bigger, and totally different. “I am looking at playing it live,” he explains.
Ngwazi further says that work has already started on the project, and hopes to be done before the end of the year. “We are going to release it differently,” says Ngwazi.
Meanwhile, Ngwazi is signed under Master KG’s record label, Wanita Mos Entertainment. For the longest time, he was known as Master KG’s DJ. But Master KG who had seen his transformation and growth encouraged him to spread his wings, and embark on a solo career. Ngwazi was the first artist to be signed under the record label. Today, he is remarkably doing well, and has recently released his debut album titled, Morata, which is a tribute to his mother, and was released after his big win at the BOMU awards 2022, where he won several awards. These include Best Dance Music, Best Newcomer, Best Video and Best Collaboration.
“Master KG who is my brother told me to pursue a solo career and fulfil my dreams to be an artist,” he explains.
Crediting God for his success, he points out that he moved to South Africa in 2018. His big move has seen him playing alongside Master KG of Jerusalem fame as his DJ, touring almost all African countries except Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Burundi, as well as Europe, and Asia ( including Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia) and the Dominican Republic. The duo of Master KG and DJ Ngwazi was also invited to Cameroon twice, where they rubbed shoulders with high profile personalities.
Today, he points out that his music is doing so well that he is in the millions when it comes to streaming. One of his songs titled Uthando featuring Master KG and Nokwazi, Lowsheen is sitting on 16 million views on You
Tube. He has another song that hit 35 million streams on digital platforms including Spotify, and Apple Music. “This is testament that I am growing as a solo artist,” he says noting that his big win at the BOMU awards was also something to celebrate, and add on to his profile.
Currently, another of his songs titled, Eloyi, is setting trends, not only in South Africa and Botswana but in Namibia where it is big. Eloyi features heavy weights that include, DJ Tira and the vocally talented Joocy. Eloyi was released at the end of 2022, but only gaining traction now. The video to the song, is a breath of fresh air. Clean and with a fresh concept, this is something that is unique and different. While it did not come cheap, Ngwazi is happy with what the concept of the video has achieved. Now nicknamed Mr Eloyi, he explains that the song is a motivation and a gospel song that inspires those who might be going through hardships to keep moving.
“We explored something different with this video. It was expensive to shoot, but we are setting trends,” he notes adding that he is motivated by people who set trends and he wants to do the same thing.
