........ Mafikizolo headlines the first show
BG REPORTER
Botswana Craft is slated to reclaim its top spot as Botswana’s premium venue. One of the longest running and most trusted venues in the city, Botswana Craft has been quiet for almost three or so years. In fact, the last time that Botswana Craft shut down Gaborone was possibly in 2019 as the deafening silence was a result of Covid- 19.
On November 24th, the venue will once again reopen its doors to those who want to party in style with the return of the Mascom Live Sessions. This is something that fans of Mascom Live Sessions have been yearning to hear. Kicking off this big event is none other than Mafikizolo, one of the popular groups that has produced many hits over the years. With some of the biggest hits that kept many dancing from dusk to dawn, this also happens to be the best event to officially activate the festive mood and take many back to yesteryears. Regardless of whether one is still stuck on the old hits of the group, or they prefer the new songs, many will jive from start to bottom.
Joining Mafikizolo on the big show will be Botswana’s darling namely, Khoisan and Tickets are on sale for P300. Mafikizolo is an Afro pop duo, established in 1999.
Theo Kgosinkwe, and Nhlanhla Nciza rose to fame after the release of their singles Ndihamba Nawe, Kwela Kwela, Sibongile as well as Udakwa Njalo. The duo has cemented its authority not only in the South African music scene but outside the borders as well. Other hits of theirs include, Khona, Love Potion, as well as recent songs such as Ngeke Balunge, released in 2022.
Previously, the venue has hosted over 40 Mascom Live Sessions, and has been running for over ten years. The popular event is known for bringing some of the best and most sought- after artists. One of the qualities that has made the event, organised by Botswana Craft in collaboration with M15, stands out is how the organisers ensure that they stick to a tight schedule. In the previous events, the opening act takes to the stage at 2000hrs, with the main act coming on stage before 2200hrs. This schedule ensures that by 0000hrs, the show is done and dusted.
