Minister of Minerals & Energy Lefoko Maxwell Moagi has revealed that plans are underway to return the Lerala Diamond Mine back to production. He told a Kgotla meeting addressed by President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi that Maroon Capital, an Israeli company which has been exploring the prospects of the Lerala diamond lease area has applied for a mining license.

Lerala diamond mine was closed in 2017.
