Matome chairs Stanbic

Corporate sector veteran, Dr Tebogo Matome, has taken over as chairperson of Stanbic Bank Botswana. In a statement this week, the bank said Matome’s appointment came after serving on the board for six years. He takes over from Craig Granville, who retired after serving on the board for 16 years. Matome is a well-respected leader, both in the industry and academia. He was the founding and former CEO of the Local Enterprise Authority, is a former CEO of the Botswana Stock Exchange and a former Executive at Botswana Insurance Fund Management (BIFM). Matome has also held various board appointments including being the Chairperson of Bokamoso Private Hospital, Maru-a-Pula School Governing Council, Vice Chairperson of the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA), Director at the Botswana Telecommunications Authority (BTA, now BOCRA), the (CEDA) and BCL, amongst others.
