Two people, a 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, died in a car accident early Saturday morning in Mochudi. Investigating the fatal accident, deputy divisional traffic officer for South Central, Senior Superintendent Boiki Mojalemotho said the accident occurred at around 4:10am.

He said the accident occurred after the duo’s car, a Toyota Vitz was hit by a Toyota RunX which was coming from behind. After getting out of the car to investigate the damage, another speeding Toyota Vitz hit the two. “The duo was rushed to Deborah Retief Memorial Hospital and one of them was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. Another was rushed to Sidilega hospital and later succumbed to injuries,” Mojalemotho said. Mojalemotho stated that the driver of the Toyota Vitz that caused the deaths, a 32-year-old man, is currently in custody helping the police in the investigation.
