Ministry hosts Satellite communication workshop

The Ministry of Communications, Knowledge and Technology will host a SADC Satellite Communications Workshop on December 6 at Cresta Maun Hotel in Maun. The workshop seeks amongst others to receive progress reports from member states on satellite coordination of their Res.559 (Resolution 559) provided a special procedure for Member States with degraded BSS (Broadcasting Satellite Service) assignments to restore the status of their BSS Plan assignments submissions as per National Roadmaps, receive a progress report on work undertaken by International Telecommunication Union BR (Radiocommunication Bureau of the ITU) on Res.559 submissions (SADC and globally), receive a progress report on outstanding Coordination for SADC Res.559 submissions, and to also share experiences on National Space Programmes (CubeSat/CanSat Frameworks and Activities), and operationalise the Framework for a SADC Shared Satellite System; receive the progress report on the launching of ANGOSAT-2, among others.
