Little Miss Junior Idol World 2021/022, Duduetsang Kimberly Matheakgomo has yet again made it to the top as the Young Woman of the year award winner 2023.
The 10-year-old young queen just added another award courtesy of the recent Women Awards Botswana.
This is an additional award to her existing awards. She received ‘Amazing Youth Award’ from International Amazing Kids Awards 2023 in Thailand early this year, where she competed on an international platform.
The bubbly Matheakgomo shared her jubilation with Vibe and said winning the award means the world to her. “I felt so happy when they announced my name because this award was meant for a young woman who inspires other young women. This practically means me,” she said. Her school, DawnBell Academy has also applauded her and confirmed a one year sponsorship to the queen, for her hard-work.
She will be not paying school fees for a year, and they also gave her a school jacket. Matheakgomo was selected the fairest of other nominees, Bridget Gothaang and Waone Makobo.
She told Vibe that she is continuing with her charity to give to the less privileged in her community. On April 4th, KATKIM, her partnership with her queen sister, in conjunction with Mr Freddy Setekia and Mrs Setekia donated school shoes and tshirts to the underprivileged students at Monwane Primary School. She is still to donate more this year. “I am still identifying other underprivileged children to donate to in November 2023.
I am also looking for sponsors to partner with in this charitable event,” she said. “I needed this to motivate me. It was about the recognition for the hard work that I am doing as a young person, and I’m happy that my dream came true,” said Matheakgomo.
