Ready to serve as a DJ
BY IRENE SHONE
Talented artiste, Botshelo Mosweu aka Girly is ready to join the crew of local DJs and demonstrate her newly acquired skill from YDj Academy in Gaborone.
Girly is one energetic artiste who never disappoints on stage with her fun lyrics and great dance moves. Many know her for her role in the Mokaragana Local Talent show on national television, but her creativity goes beyond being a presenter. Just as she was working on her brand new EP of five songs titled, ’League ya dibosso’ she also enrolled at school to become a Disk Jockey (DJ) of note. “I have been doing an eight weeks course, learning to become a better DJ at YDj Academy in Block 5,” she said. Having been in the music industry from the age of 14, all she ever wished for was to always become better and grow as a creative. She believes in giving the best of her music and thought being a DJ would also allow her to set the trend and keep fun lovers entertained. “I went to school because I believe in perfection and I just want to deliver the best,” she said. For her EP, she has featured a young upcoming artist called Jacklass from Mochudi. The hit song to this EP is dubbed, ‘Tike’. Girly further told Vibe that she does not necessarily stick to a certain genre but expresses herself as a musician in all genres. She currently has six singles made from different music genres. She added that she is working hard to elevate her brand. “My biggest dream is to be recognized internationally and have songs with international artists,” she said. This brand new EP she said would be released in the first week of July and it was produced by Pro Lanez. She is also looking forward to opening a clothing shop, as she believes that music and fashion go together.
