Botswana Cricket proceeds to Rwanda showdown
BY SUN REPORTER
In a display of unrivaled skill and determination, the Botswana Senior Men’s team recently emerged victorious in the fiercely competitive ACA Men’s T20 South-Central Regional Qualifiers held in South Africa. Through a statement this week, the Botswana Crickets Association said the local team conquered all opponents in their path, on the way to sealing an awe-inspiring unbeaten run, emerging as the team to watch. “Now, this formidable squad is setting its sights on Nairobi, Kenya, where they will lock horns with cricket powerhouses in the exhilarating ILT20 4 Nations Continent Cup,” the statement reads. Departing on June 7th, 2023, and returning on June 22nd, 2023, the Botswana Men’s team is ready to leave their mark on the international stage. With a triple-header round-robin tournament against Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, these talented athletes are eager to showcase their prowess. Although
Nigeria and Tanzania had to bow out due to unforeseen circumstances, this ICC-sanctioned event promises to be a thrilling spectacle that fans won’t want to miss. Meanwhile, the Botswana Senior Women’s team is also preparing to make waves in the continental cricketing world. Embarking on a journey to Kigali, Rwanda, on June 7th, 2023, they are all set to participate in the prestigious Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament. Their return is scheduled for June 18th, 2023, but not before engaging in a fierce doubleheader round-robin tournament against Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria. This ICC-sanctioned event will test the mettle of these skilled women, as they vie for glory on foreign soil.
Such is the prowess of Botswana Cricket that Rwanda Cricket has requested the services of one of our players, Tuelo Shadreck, to participate in the Kwibuka Elite tournament after the main event. A testament to the talent of our athletes, Tuelo Shadreck is poised to leave a lasting impression on Rwandan soil.
