Magatwe a ne a re there are some unhappy members of the Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) who wanted the party President Biggie Butale to suspend the party Patron Ian Khama for insubordination and disrespect for the highest party office. But then things took a swift twist when on Monday the party suspended Biggie instead. It was the feeling of the said group that the Patron had undermined the President in front of the party followers at the political rally held in Serowe on Saturday. One of the many things the Patron had said over the telephone, amplified to the rest of the audience, is that Butale is a liar in going around telling people that he and Khama get along. Even the manner in which he referenced Butale, they say, was disrespectful. He called him ing him by name, saying he must stop using his name to lie to people. Gatwe the unhappy lot described the words used by Khama as demeaning, disappointing, embarrassing and downright disrespectful towards a person holding the position of President for the party. If Khama demands respect, they said, Khama should lead by example and at least respect the position the man holds. It however remains to be seen what will come of the matter as Biggie is now battling against his suspension.
