The scenes of the 17-chapter novel are set in Setswana cultural locations around the country including Moshupa, where Sekgabo, the main character hails from. From the beginning, the writer uses very strong descriptive language that captivates the reader. The choice of words and expressions make it easy for the reader to follow events of Sekgabo’s life closely. The book brings characters to life. You can almost see Sekgabo’s beauty, and understand her character. She is clearly very beautiful and knows it. She is confident when she speaks of how she turns heads and that every man wants to be with her, however, no one is bold enough to approach her. The ending is a resounding pleasant surprise of how things turned out between two women who were fueled by negative perceptions about each other but were now finding peace. It is an emotional end of true love and loyalty among women who had so much in common. Matsale Wa Moloi is part of Mosadi book series comprising of 10 editions by Phohu Publishers. It was published in 2022 and is available in Botswana Book Centre in Gaborone.
