Multitudes turn up for Re Ba Bona Ha

SUN REPORTER

The beautiful game took center stage in Maun last weekend, as over 200 young football enthusiasts turned up for the exciting relaunch of the Re Ba Bona Ha (RBBH) grassroots Programme. With the Botswana Football Association (BFA) leading the charge to resuscitate the program countrywide, the event followed the successful relaunch at the Lekidi Centre in Gaborone two weeks ago. Tshepo Mphukuthi, the BFA Technical Director, fired up the young players, urging them to seize the chance of being part of a top-notch football development setup. He promised that the opportunity would unlock doors for them to excel in the sport. In response, Nhabe Regional Football acting Chairperson, Mr. Jackalas, thanked the BFA for reviving the RBBH program in Maun, where he noted there was an abundance of untapped talent. He expressed optimism that the program would identify and nurture football talent in the region, catapulting the young players to national and international glory.

The revival of the RBBH program comes after a long hiatus, compounded by the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. BNSC Projects Officer, Frederick Kebadiretse, lauded the BFA for their efforts in bringing back the program, which he noted was instrumental in the discovery and nurturing of football talent in Botswana. In attendance at the Maun Sport Complex were BFA Development Officers, Barobi Nwako (Women’s Football) and Terry Kgabeng, alongside the leadership of Nhabe Regional Football.
