Hawks on an early lead

SUN REPORTER

Gaborone Regional Football League (GRFL) outfit UB Hawks are like a house on fire, winning all their games since the start of the season.

“What motivated our performance is mainly what we have achieved in the last season and the goals we have set for ourselves this season.” Team Coach, Alex Malete said in an interview.

Malete says everyone in the team believes they can do it, they believe they could have promoted the team last season and the work-rate has doubled, he added that it is very key for them to start the season well.

“The league is going to be difficult, it is a marathon but it is important for us to collect maximum points so early when you still have a favourable league schedule.

Moreover, he said there will also be a disruption due to injuries in the team and also another hurdle is that teams will be going all out against them since they have won the league last time. He said this time around their priority is promotion to the Debswana First Division South League. “We are committed, we are strong, we are focused and we have the ability to play in First Division,” he said. For his part, team Manager Hassan Stoffel said the team can take them to the promised land. “We highly believe in the team, the technical team and everyone around the club.” He said University of Botswana Management has been very supportive towards the team and they extend their gratitude to the board.

The team has played 4 games and has maintained a 100 percent winning record so far.
