IRENE SHONE

Gospel music lovers will be treated to an esteemed show dubbed ‘Baipereki Lefatsheng’ Gospel show next weekend on December 10th at Gaborone Technical College (GTC) hall. Organiser of the event, Gaone Selebo of Lady G Promotions which promotes other artists and organises events, also PRO for Unity of Gospel Artists, told Vibe that the event comes better and improved. “Unity of Gospel Artists was formed in 2013 by Dr Morake from Pretoria, South Africa, with a mandate to spread Gospel music and expose Gospel music artistes,” she explained. She further noted that they wish to unite gospel artistes across the region, organise gigs for them and help them get exposure in other countries.

Interestingly, they also expound to the business part of the industry, as they also empower random businesses with money to grow their businesses and return the money with no interest. Selebo said that they are excited about the event, as they have been receiving positive response from both the fans and the artistes.

“The response has been good and overwhelming. Gospel lovers are responding very well as this is not our first show. We held another successful event before, and can only have this one much better than the first edition,” she said.

They are expecting various local gospel artistes as well as international artists, from countries including; South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Some of the international artistes on the lineup include; Dr Morake Makhudu, Azwi Kokela, Keitumetse Ngwato, Lesego Nkonyane and Masole.
