Kgwebo Guard penetrates the market

BY ANDREW MARAMWIDZE

With two years on the market, Kgwebo Guard, an insurance product targeting small to micro-medium enterprises (SMMEs), has recorded impressive uptake, authorities at Legal Guard have revealed.

“Uptake has been good, it is clear that there was a gap, some people own businesses but do not have deep pockets to have a lawyer or law firm on a retainer,” said Legal Guard Insurance’s Legal Advisory Manager, Obakeng Chabata.

He highlighted that lots of small businesses have seen the need to have access to legal services.

“We have come to realize that legal services are important, not just to individuals but also to people that run businesses, as some of them know very little on law and regulatory requirements,” Chabata said.

He said businesses subscribing to Kgwebo Guard are assisted to comply with regulatory issues, governance and agreements.

“And all this happens even before you have a legal problem, we concern ourselves with making sure your business is legally compliant and protected,” said Chabata, adding that Legal Guard is proactive in its services with Kgwebo Guard.

“We ensure that all your agreements are tight and monitored on a regular basis,” said Chabata. Currently, the company has over 60 pending cases that have been taken up under Kgwebo Guard on behalf of clients.
