APOLOGISE FOR LESEDI’S RIP COMMENTS

Facebook and facebookers can be hilarious! This week many were taking to the social media platform to apologise to Lesedi Molapisi and his family, saying they were looking for their comments where they wrote ‘RIP’ after some ‘revelations’ that the Motswana woman accused of trafficking drugs into Bangladesh was executed. Many would later learn that there was nothing true regarding the execution of the lady and that there had not even been any trial on the matter.

One wrote: “Bathong Modimo a intshwarele. Re bolaisitswe go kwala bo RIP le go bua maaka ko ditsaleng tsa rona.” Another added: “Batho ba facebook tlhe lo re dira baloi. Ke lebetse le ko ke neng ke kwala RIP teng so that I delete the comment.” Many facebookers had declared that Lesedi was executed e bile gotwe the execution was cruel.

Others had even said they had it “in good authority” that the lady would be executed at some specified time and for everyone to see so as to send a message to other drug dealers. “Bathong, ke gore le raa gore ke letse ke lela mahala? Kana ke ne ke amegile. Wasted tears,” another wrote on a post confirming there was never any execution as widely reported. Of course others still believe the lady was executed, saying there can never be smoke without fire and that the Bangladeshi government has no obligation to confirm or deny the execution.
