In their fourth year of existence, Jam’n Soul Live Session will bring two South African artists, Presss and Langa Mavuso on March 26, 2023 at Gaborone Club in Village. In an interview with Arts & Culture, the event coordinator, Kagiso Moatlhodi said they were expecting a turnout of about 1,000 people. She pointed out that since their establishment in 2018, they hosted different events including music, dance, and fine artistry adding that all their shows had different concepts. Moatlhodi said this would be a chilled and soulful event.

She said last year December, they hosted Lloyiso where the turn up was great and attracted about 3,000 revellers. She added that in support of the International Women’s Month, they chose to make all supporting acts strictly women. These artists include Dato Seiko, Sebaga, Tay and Zano. The night’s DJs include Macx Wa Bana, Neo Played It, Myza, Frostbite, Shimrock and Soulman.

“Usually at our events, security is very tight. Cooler boxes are allowed but we do not allow for any drinks, alcohol or food that comes from outside. Cooler boxes are allowed in the premises. We do not charge any extra expenses. People can bring their ices in their cooler boxes because we do not charge for that. We do not allow for people to come from outside

to bring food and drinks,” she said. Moatlhodi said being in a male centric industry as a young woman has been difficult as such one had to go an extra mile to prove that they are capable and could grow brands that could go to greater heights. She stated that she had to work extra hard to prove herself to service providers who are critical in staging such an event. She further called on business entities to come on board and help them promote soulful music. She highlighted that the event has grown in popularity over the years as their patrons have been asking for the sessions to be made regularly and frequently.

She said they were open to collaborations calling young people with other services that share the same vision. Meanwhile, Moatlhodi advised the youth to always think of bringing something new on board and never give up on their dreams. Tickets for the event are sell for P250 single standard and double early bird P400. They are sold at Liquorama stores in Mainmall, Riverwalk, BBS, Phakalane, Game City and Railpark.
