In an endeavour to bring life to one of the oldest towns in Botswana (Lobatse), Dops Creations and Adventure 99 will host the biggest music festival dubbed Bandleng All Star Experience (BASE) on October 1, 2022 at the Lobatse Sports Complex.

“Lobatse has not had any big event and has been dead for a while and yet it is still growing and has a lot of unrecognised talent. So BASE team decided to bring a show to Lobatse that resonates more with Lobatse culture of mapantsula as we know Bandleng. This event is also meant to bring Lobatse back to life and uplift the community,” BASE founding director Dops Baipisi explained. He also said they have a full and vibrant line-up, which include Trompies and Dalom Kids while from the local shores they have booked Mapetla, Matlotla, FME DJs, MMP Family, Zolasko, Tumza and The Big Bullets and Slizer. He also stated that they have included local DJs, who were selected from Bandleng, as Lobatse is known, to empower the local youth.

Furthermore, he said they had a great response from the Lobatse residents who are excited about the event, adding they are also happy that Bandleng would be buzzing. He said they have partnered with All Night Security to make sure revellers, artists and everyone is protected.

“We would like to assure the crowd that there will be security everywhere and also bouncers and the people’s safety is our priority. Cooler boxes are allowed till 6pm, and then after their entrance fee is P50. Bottles are not allowed in the stadium. You can bring in your own alcohol and security will be going around providing drinking cups to our people that have bottled drink,” he said. Moreover, he pointed out that this event is the beginning of good things to come in Lobatse as they aim to make Bandleng All Star Experience a brand and a pride to every Lobatse native. He, however, said they face lack of sponsors and lack of media coverage.

Tickets for the event are selling at all the Spar outlets country wide and Webtickets online, Engen Lobatse and Liquorama Lobatse. He added that they had agents in Jwaneng and Kanye. General ticket costs P200 and admits one, P350 admits two and P660 admits four. Their VIP ticket costs P600 and it admits one and P1,000 admits two people.
